The low-power online UPS is an uninterruptible power supply, which is a constant voltage and frequency uninterruptible power supply with an energy storage device and an inverter as the main component. It is mainly used to provide uninterrupted power supply to a single computer, computer network system or other power electronic equipment. When the mains input is normal, the online UPS will stabilize the mains and supply it to the load. Low power UPS are suitable for capacitive loads, such as personal PCs, inkjet printers, scanners, etc. They are not suitable for inductive loads, because the starting current of the inductive load tends to exceed 3 to 4 times of the rated current, which will cause instantaneous overload of the online UPS power supply and affect UPS life. The commonly used domestic appliances like electric fans, refrigerators, air conditioners are all typical inductive loads and cannot be connected to the output end of the UPS power supply. Online UPS power supply should not be fully loaded or excessively lightly loaded. Although each UPS power supply is marked with rated power, in general, loads of 60%-70% rated capacity for the backup UPS power supply, loads of 70%-80% rated capacity for online UPS are recommended. Therefore, it is best not to use the UPS according to its rated power. Long-term full load will cause overheating of the UPS power inverter and rectifier filter and affect the service life of the UPS power supply.

Similarly, it is not advisable for the UPS power supply to operate under excessive light load conditions. If the UPS power supply is too lightly loaded, it may cause deep discharge of the battery during a power outage, and it will also significantly reduce the service life of the battery.

It is also very important to use UPS power supply correctly to ensure the normal operation and personal safety of the UPS power supply and the loads it carries. First of all, when the UPS power supply is used for the first time or after a long period of time, it must be connected to the mains and use the charging circuit of the UPS power supply to supplement the charging of the UPS battery. For low-power online UPS power supplies, the general charging time is about 10 hours. After the UPS battery capacity reaches saturation, it can be put into normal use. Secondly, it is necessary to determine that the fluctuation range of the mains voltage is consistent with the variation range of the selected UPS power input voltage. Pay attention when connecting UPS power supply, UPS power input must be grounded, and the grounding resistance should not exceed 4Ω.
In addition, the UPS power on and off steps must be correct. The power components inside the UPS power supply have a certain rated operating current. If the impulse current is too large, the power components can be shortened in life or even burned. Therefore, when starting up, turn on the mains switch of the UPS power supply first, and then turn on the load switches one by one. When turning on the load, the sequence should be one by one from the load with the large inrush current to the load with the small inrush current. Never turn on all loads at the same time, let alone turn on with load. When shutting down, turn off the loads one by one, and then turn off the UPS power switch, finally turn off the UPS power mains switch. Similarly, it cannot be shut down under load.
